eFootball 2023 kicks off its second season with new events from The Football Festival

 Konami's free soccer game is updated with a new tournament campaign with 40 national teams to celebrate the Soccer World Cup.

Konami has announced that eFootball 2023, its free soccer game, begins its second season and with it a series of events and campaigns themed around The Football Festival. This means the incorporation of 40 National Teams that can be chosen for a limited time in the offline Trial Match mode, in the online Dream Team mode, and in the national Team Packs, already enabled in Japan, Brazil, Argentina and France.

The event coincides with the FIFA World Cup but Konami does not have the rights to the championship and therefore it is not officially mentioned. For example, it includes The International Cup Experience, a tournament against the AI in which users can play as one of the 46 available national teams, and the continuation of the eFootball International Cup, a championship played by the representatives of all countries. participants in which the winner will receive a total prize of one billion eFootball coins -until December 17-.

Trial Match includes 40 new teams

The offline Trial Match mode will be expanded for a limited time to allow fans to play as 40 national teams. On console, users will also be able to enjoy playing 2v2 offline and taking advantage of international rivalries with their friends. It will be available until mid-February 2023.

The International Cup Experience is already underway

The International Cup Experience allows players from 46 countries to compete against the AI and compete in the group stages and subsequent knockout rounds to rise to the top of world soccer. It will be available until Thursday, January 12, 2023.

New National Team Packs

To help users of all levels, four more National Team Packs have been released. These packs include 11 players from each country, allowing first-time users to build a solid starting XI, or even more experienced eFootball users to further enhance their Dream Teams.
National Team Packs include:

  • National Team Pack: Argentina '22 [Premium]
  • National Team Pack: Brazil '22 [Premium]
  • National Team Pack: Japan '22 [Premium]
Each National Team Packs will also include a player that will appear as a Big Time token, the new Epic player theme. Big Time represents the new eFootball Epic player token theme. These players will be able to be from the past or present, will be able to celebrate some of the players' greatest moments on the pitch, and will feature a special chip design.
Among these letters appears the late Diego Maradona for his famous "hand of God" in the match against England in the 1986 World Cup. Maradona and Konami clashed over the use of the footballer's image until they reached an agreement in 2017.
